Week 22/22a – Where DOES the Time Go?

Week 22/22a – Where DOES the Time Go?

doubleclocks-250pxHard to believe we’re at week 25 now (when this actually being written.) I know the site says week 23, but those two weeks when we went “A” instead of actually advancing the week number… well, if you weren’t really paying attention… could be confusing, especially since the last one is week 24. Looks can be deceiving.

The last two weeks have been a little weird for me. Week 22 was pretty strong — pretty energized. “Thoughts are spiritual seeds, which when planted in the subconscious… have a tendency to sprout and grow,” and I seem to have planted something I didn’t intend so I have to figure out what to do about that. But otherwise I was up and happy and bopping around.

I EVEN came up with a new song to sing, that had me giggling 🙂  I don’t know where this stuff comes from; I don’t even remember what I was doing, but suddenly springing forth from my lungs were the words, “I’m looking for Abundance” in the tune of Bobby Womack’s old, “I’m Looking for a Love.”  If you’re not familiar with it, I’ve embedded it below.  In the song’s refrain, it says, “I’m looking here and there; and I’m searching everywhere. I’m looking for a love to call my own.”  AND it’s fun to dance to!  Just replace the words “a love” with the word “abundance.”  Admittedly, it’s not as smmmmoooth as replacing “Hal-le-lu-jah” with “I Am Grate-ful.” But it gets the job done.  Have fun with it.

The Master Key read was great, but have you ever noticed that when you start talking about releasing or conquering fear, the image(s) of fear appear for you to deal with? So in reading about eliminating it, you are presented with a “practical exercise” to work through it. But for abundance… I have to start singing to get to that point! Now, is that fair?  LOL. But I am often reminded of this quote by Wayne Dyer, in which case I suppose that singing my little song is more than appropriate — and if we dance to it, I guess we’re getting in a little mind gym 🙂

Week 22 was also a week of getting back on track. Figuring out where I’d veered that was keeping me stuck. I’ve been pretty successful at side-stepping the “what would the person I intend to be do next” question; unfortunately (or fortunately), it is always followed by the “what are you pretending not to know” question — and having answered that “once”, it comes marching in bringing it’s own set of scrolls — which I wrote —  for me to re-read. Hard to dodge those.

But I re-established my daily work hours, which I’d let slip, and I’ve been relatively faithful to that. I returned to meditating daily — I used to do that for 30 minutes first thing in the morning. At this point I can kind of combine that with the sit, but often I end up doing two sessions — one, just to clear.

Sliding into Week 22a, I have not done the total silence exercise. As Mark says, I’m not Henry Kissinger and the world won’t stop if I disappear for a couple of days, but that will have to wait for a bit — maybe in week 25 🙂  (play on words, there) between meetings and conferences and such. I do grab a couple of hours of meditative time here and there; get away from the computer, put the phone on “don’t bother me” and since I re-instituted my “work hours” I get some other important things done early in the day and have been going to bed earlier.  11:30p.m. for instance, versus 3:00 or 4:00 a.m. And yesterday, I did took some meditative “chilli cooking time,” and that’s always clearing for me — the focus, and the peppers and stuff I usually put into my chilli.

Week 22a also brought me “The Science of Getting Rich” which I found to be an excellent piece. Something about that guy’s voice made me dip back into the Digital Connections to learn how to strip the audio off a video and have that recording. As Vince — one of our mastermind group members says — that kind of boiled all 20+ weeks of MKMMA so far, down into one neat little package — minus the practical application that we’ve been doing.

A funny story. In week 22 webby they spoke of having Deepak Chopra’s 7 Spiritual Laws of Success — a book I’ve owned for years, and for whatever reason hadn’t gotten past page 4, despite having had to move it at least once a month while looking for something else!  Well, I’ve had “The Secret” video also for…well, since shortly after it came out. One of the bonuses that came with The Secret, was Wattles “Science of Getting Rich.”  A few months ago a friend in Toastmasters loaned me — unsolicited, but accepted –her copy of The Science of Getting Rich along with two other books Wattles wrote, and then she kind of disappeared. I didn’t read it either.  Then, two Sundays ago she had a birthday lunch and invited me.  I very nicely wrapped her Wattles collection and took it to her as her birthday gift along with her card. When I came back home to check the week 22a video… it was The Science of Getting Rich. Apparently, I NEEDED to read that! So, I listened to the 2 hour audio book THAT night — as did the other members of our mastermind group — and I’ll be re-reading, highlighting, playing the MP3 I made and reminding myself and focusing on planting the right seeds in the right fertile soil.

And now… I wait to see and hear what our week 23 webby has to offer. Another side note is that way back on the first webby, these guys managed to unlock an emotion door that I had securely locked for YEARS and it was pretty much impenetrable. I don’t know what they did or how, but they stripped the lock off and I’m not so skilled at putting it back on. Not that I’m walking up and down the street blubbering all over everyone but I’m definitely more prone to “feeling” these days than I was 6 months ago… and to be honest, I’m not all that sure I like it, but apparently there’s not much I can do about it right now. So I’ll be staying away from sappy movies until I get this sucker figured out — although I do have a powerful urge to watch Fern Gully which, being a keeper, I’ve had since it came out… in 1992 — baby boy was 8 then. He turned 32 last month.  I’m not sentimental at ALL 🙂

Have a magnificent day, my friends.

  1. Great Blog Kelvin!
Funny how we hold on to something and dispose of it just when we need to use it the most. Isn’t that what junk is? Keep for seven years then throw away seven days or hours before we need it.

  2. Kelvin! I love how you covered the entire spectrum in your Blog! Yay! for singing spontaneously and knowing that you tune into your abundance in so many ways. Great to know the meditative time has come back into your rhythm, earlier to bed can have amazing accumulative results, Kelvin. WOOHOO! Science of Getting Rich, Science of Being Well, Kelvin YOU are your best teacher and a fantastic student with all that you are allowing!

  3. Your comments about the spiritual seeds reminds me of the saying, “Be careful what you wish for.” Lessons learned in this course confirm the saying. Glad to see you have identified the weeds. 🙂
